MOUNTS FOR THE FRONT.

SUFFICIENT FORTHCOMING. Wellington. Aug. 19. Thanks very largely to the efforts of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union the Defence Department has now a sufficient number of horses available for the Expeditionary Force. Some difficulty was experienced in getting the heavy tvpc of horses required for the artillery. The horses will be shipped from the various districts by the troopships leaving the different ports. Something between 3000 and 4000 will be necessary for the whole force.
