< Sockburn, Aug. 13. , For the Canterbury Jockey Club’s ■Jational meeting, second day, .vas rain in the morning and the going was soft. The day was cold and the attendance small. Results: Hunt Club Cup.—Lady Bibhero 1, 3elwvn 2, Golden Grape 3. All started. Won pulling up by twentylengths. Golden Grape fell at the lecond to last fence. The horse was caught and went back and finished bird. The others did not finish. Time, 6min. 3 2-ssec. Summer Handicap.—Gazette 1, Chrysotis 2, Glenroy 3. All started. The winner took charge inside the distance, winning by a neck from a fast finishing Chrysotis. Glenroy i length away third. Time, Imin. 18 4-SSCC.

August Handicap.—Clynelish 1, Crown Pearl 2. Briar Patch 3. All started. Crown Pearl took charge inside the distance, but Clynelish, finishing fast, beat him by a length, the same distance between second and third. Time, Imin 18 3-ssec.
