[own correspondent.] A most enjoyable euchre party fo was held in the schoolroom on Wednesday evening. There was a large number of players present, and great excitement prevailed the whole evening. Keen competition was the rule right through. The ladies’ first prize went to Mrs. Waterhouse, Mr. A. G. Fulford won the gentlemen’s prize, and the booby was secured by Mrs. Craven. At the dose of the evening, Mr. Piper presented the prizes to the winr.cis While drafting cattle at the OaJt- . ley stockyards on Tuesday, Mr. Pkt- ~ to’rsan h;;d the misfortune to meet with a somewhat serious accident. He was standing on the top rail Of the ■ race driving some bullocln through, when he accidently, slipped and fell, receiving severe injuries to his back. He was conveyed home bv Mr. Fernie in his motor car. Today he is reported to be slightly better. Owing to the milk supply falling off lately the Waiohiki cneese factory is now receiving milk every other day. The social committee intend holding a dance in the schoolroom on June 12th.
