CYCLONE AT TAMWORTH.
MUCH DAMAGE DONE. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.] (Received 10, 9.45 a.m.) 1 Sydney, Jan. 10. A cyclone at Tam worth, in the Nemingha districts, accompanied oy ,' torrential rain and hail, did widespread damage, many houses being ■ dismantled and unroofed, the latter including the Anglican Church and the large butter factory. A big area of lucerne and tobacco . crops has been destroyed, and the loss is many thousands of pounds sterling. . ' “ Several sensational escapes are told. . Some men were blown from ‘ a load of hay over a fence by the force of the wind. Weather board houses and sheds! were smashed up and the pieces blown clean away. Pigs were lifted over fences. A flood added to the devastation, but luckily the storm Exhausted itself over a limited area.
