OLYMPIC GAMES IN BERLIN. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. 1 Auckland, Dee. 22. A suggestion that New Zealand should join with Australia in establishing a fund with which to send an Australasian team of athletes to compete at the Olympic games in Berlin in 1916 is contained in a letter which the Mayor®* (Mr. C. J. Parr) has received from the Lord Mayor of Sydney. The letter men- . tions that at a large gathering of influential citizens held in Sydney it was decided that such a fund should : be established, each of the Aus- j tralian States and New Zealand i starting funds, the proceeds of which might be placed together in an Australasian fund when the time came for selecting a team from the various parts of Australia and New Zealand. Mr Parr remarked to a reporter that providing it was pos- i sible for New Zealand to join in an ; Australasian movement on a satis-' factory basis be thought that the ; suggestion might be worth acting ‘ upon.
