HAVELOCK TOWN BOARD.

The Havelock North Town Board met la it evening. Present : Mr. T. Alas-n Chambers (chairman?. Messis 11. A. M-xsrnan. A. 11. Bale. J. A. Pothan. J. H. Joll and J. <l. Niinon. Leave of absence v. as tn anted ts Mr. L. T. Cooper. CORR ESPOND ENCE. The Hastings Borough Council requested the board to charge at the rate of !0d per 1000 gallons for all water supplied outside the Town Board district, from the borough mains. —lt was decided to discuss the matter with the council’s committee when conferring in regard to the agreement re supply of electric current.

David Whyte applied for permis-j -ion to connect his house with tho| Hastings water main. He understood that when the Havelock scheme is completed, the boarci would do the connections to the rend boundary. He was prepared to pay the Cill cost of connection now, the I board to refund their portion of the cost when the Havelock scheme is sufficiently completed. He was also willing to pay the same price for the water consumed at the same rate per gallon as to be charged when the k.val supply was available. —Deferred ponding agreement with the Hastings Borough Council being signed. T. Ma-on Chambers applied on behalf of Mr. C. Ellison and Mis: Hamilton for water from the main running between their houses, the expense of connections to be borne by th- applicants. —Similarly dealt with.

F. J. Douglas asked for a supply of water from the main in Duart road by a ’-inch pipe, and agreed to pay the cost of piping, conditional on the board refunding the cost of pipes when the main is Carried through.— Similar reply to be sent.

On the motion of Mr. Nimon. it was decided t<> consider the question of licensing vehicles when the proposed bv laws were being framed. It vas decided to write to the Napier Brewery Company asking that the nuisance caused by the drain in front of tie* Exchange Hotel, be abated. On the motion of Messrs. Mossman and Bale a resolution was pass ed expressing appreciation of the manner in which the Returning Officer (Mr. W. H. Complin) carried cut his duties in connection with the recent loan poll. .Wcmints anioiin'i’ig to 12 1 were passed for payment.
