“HASTINGS HARBOUR INVESTIGATORS."
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I should like to ask these selfappointed gentlemen what benefit they think they are conferring on Hastings by their so-called “Investigation.” What is the distance of railway line from this anchorage off Black Reef to Hastings which would have to be built? If Napier’s existence is as prejudicial to the g'rowth of Hastings, as their puny minds seem to think, what effect do they imagine would the growth of a third town have on Hastings? Do they realise that they are contributing their mite to disunity and obstruction and aiding the very party in Napier which they onee pledged themselves to expose ? If they want to show how clever they are why do they not try and unite the two towns instead of sowing discord? —I am, etc., “RECLAMATION.”
