Mount Katmai in Alaska is again erupting and darkness covers the islands in the neighbourhood because of the falling ashes. The wireless operators at M ood Island deserted their post to escape danger. [The volcano is on Augustine Island in Cook Inlet in the Gulf of Alaska. Wood Island is some 100 miles distant. |
