DECLARED SANE.
DISCHARGED FROM AVONDALE
Auckland. March 14.
The man Johnson, who escaped from the mental hospital at Avondale some months ago, and who recently returned to town of his own accord and was placed on 28 days’ probation, was examined by three medical men, who testified that there was no trace of insanity, and their statements were submitted to Dr. Beattie, the asylum superintendent, with the result that a certificate was issued for Johnson’s immediate discharge from the institution.
