Thornton Heath, apologised to tuord Kobets for his statement that the National Service League wanted to .jliseourage men from joining the Territorials. H.AI.S. PIONEER. GIVEN TO THE COMMON WEALTH. (Received 11, 10.5 a.m.) Melbourne, Dec. 11. The Admiralty has made a free gift of the third-class cruiser Pioneer to the Comonwealth. The Government asked for it on the same conditions as the Encounter was given, but the Admiralty handed it over unconditionally. (Received 11, 10.30 a.m.) London. Dee. 10. Replying to Alajor Guest, member for Haverford West. Air. Churchill said the Admiralty was offering the Pioneer as a free gift to serve as a gunnery tender at the naval depot at M’illiamstown.
