MILITANTS SUFFRAGETTES.
A LOST CHANCE. London. Dee. 4. Mr. Lloyd George, replying to the Welsh women’s suffrage demonstration. said the chances of an amendment to the Franchise Bill were less propitious than a year ago owing to the militants antagonising public opinion.
MR. ASQUITH’S PROMIS E. (Received 5, 10.35 .a.tn.) London. Dec. 4. Sir John Simon, Liberal member for Essex, speaking at a suffrage meeting in London, said the Premier had promised that he would not oppose an amendment to the franchise if it was approved by a deliberate decision of the House of Commons. If the Bill is tints amended, it: will become a Government measure.
