The by-election for Tower Hamlets Bow and Bromley seat, caused by Air. Lansbury, the Labour member, resigning to re-contest the seat on the women's suffragette question, resulted as follows Blair (Unionist) 40-12 Lansbury (Labour) . . 3291 The suffragettes actively campaigned for Mr. Lansbury, but the contest was not confined to the franchise question. Aggrieved workers complained of the Insurance Act, and Mr. Lansbury suggested it should be repealed. Many Liberals and Labourites abstained from voting. [The result of the polling in December. 1910, was G. Lansbury (Lab.) 4315. L. S. Amery (Unionist) 3452. ]
