“THE BLACK CAT." This superb photo-play. 3000 feet in length, will be shown at the Princess Theatr.-', Hastings, to-night. A widow and her son are living in affluent circumstances. The son goes to a University and studios ns a doctor. On his return home as a fully-fledged medical man, he meets his cousin Mary and becomes engaged to her. Once more in town, he saves a young woman from committing suicide. He takes hei home, and she proves hi.s evil star, fo, she is connected with a gang of criminals. and is known as “ The Black Cat.’ Eventually Rolf marries the adventuress, and all might have gone well had not an o'd lover turned up and .vngnfully put justice on her track. The picture is most magnificently staged and photographed. There is also a picture of the Melbourne Cup race, run this month, which should prove a big attraction. The big crowds and the various semes on the racecourse are most inte’erting;
