THE TIRATU BLOCK. . I [FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. J .' Dannevirke .Nov. 12. The Dannevirke Chamber of Commerce last evening passed a resolution approving the provision of the .i-lau-e in the Native Land Law Act. [ 1912, dealing with the investment in : trust of two thirds of the money realised by the Government from 'the sale of Native lands handed over to them for disposal, and urging that ’the provision be extended to all lands sold by- the Natives either to Europeans or the Government. The Chamber also discussed the 1 position regarding the Tiratu Native Block, over which a proclamation ( now exists, expiring m is months. A resolution was passed informing tiie Minister of Native Lands that ■ a report was current that speculators were dealing with the block with a view to purchase after the proclamation had expired, and asking what steps would be taken by the Government to acquire the land.
