MT. LYELL DISASTER.
FIRE STILL SMOI'LDERING. [press ASSOCIATION—COIWRIGHT.] (Received 9. t 1.25 a.m.) Hobart. Nov. .9. The experiment with the fan in North Lyell mine was unsuccessful. It has been discovered that tlie fire is still smouldering and it is considered that the only remedy is in re-sealing and flooding the mine. Tlie water is now forty feet above Hi- i(JOU feet level.
