COMMITTEE 31EET1NG. : The A. and P .Society held a meet- ' ing at Napier this morning to deal with the balance-sheet from the show and ordinary business. The chair was occupied by Mr. F. W. Williams. There was a very fair attendance of members. A letter was received from Mr. Eustace Lar.e with regard to the establishment- of an agricultural college near Hastings.—Considerable discussion followed upon the .letter, and it was thcugbt that Hastings should not. be mentioned. The college should be for Hawke's Bay. Itwas eventually agreed to urge tliat an agricultural college be establish i ed in Hawke’s Bay without mentioning any particular locality. j The Agricultural Department’s re- j commendations with regard to tin } classification of seeds was referred to the Revision Committee. M.-. Alf Reid’s offer of a prize v. a referred to the Revision Committee. Mr. J. D. Hughes forwarded two guineas as a prize for Lincoln ram hoggets.—• Accepted with thanks. Mr. L. Bailey, judge of fat stock at- the recent show forwarded donation of £4 Itowards the pi izc list for next show. —Accepted with thanks. Mr. M . Richmond offered £5 5 - fcr a pen of five freezing lambs.Accepted with thanks. Mia W. Strange gave £5 for a hunters’ competition and ladies' jumping. — Accepted with thanks. Mr. J. H. Coleman stated that h< desired to withdraw his prize of £lii given for weight-carry ing horses. In explanation, he said that •! the horses placed in this class at the lasi show were a sample ci what responded to his prize, hi would withdraw it.--Mr. G. P. Donnelly urged upon .Mr. Cclcnt.ar that he. should net. carry out. bis intention, but Mr. Coleman insisted, and the prize was withdrawn. j The balance sheet of the recent I show was placed before the meeting j and adopted. I Voles of thanks were passed to the judges, stewards ami committee. Thanks were also extended to thr Railwax' Traffic Manager for the provision < f special stock trains, which were bound to be of great assistant:! to the show. Thirlv-eiuht new members wer elected! Coughlan had rendered.
