ATHLETICS.

TAKAPAU CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.

A meeting of directors of the Caledonian Society was held on Monday evening. It was decided that the annual gathering should take place on Wednesday, 26th February. subject to the approval of the central society. Three horse events were added to the programme—namely, a jumping competition, turning, and picking up flags. A handicap, 120 yards, with £lO for first and substantial second and third prizes, has been added. The total prize money allocated was over £l2O. Et was decided to have a place - kicking competition with sweepstake prizes.
