CYCLING.

TIMARU-CHRISTCHURCH ROAD RACE. Timaru, Sept. 26. One hundred and four riders started in the road race from Timaru to Christchurch. The weather was very fine and a 15-knot southerly breeze blowing. The roads were in splendid order. A progress report shows the riders are making fast time. CONDITIONS FAVOURABLE. Christchurch, Sept. 26. The conditions are all in favour of fast time for the big road race. The roads at this end are in good order, and a smart breeze is behind the competitors. The finish will be at Canterbury Park racecourse. Sockburn.
