His parent: were travelling in a motor boat be tween Awaroa and Tonga, and dining the journey the child fell against the engine flvwhcel and was instant Iv killed. A CONVICT’S DEATH. Auckland, Sept. 12. A prisoner named George McGurk aged 36. who was serving a sentence of seven years for having attempt?.' to murder a man at Devonport. wa c accidently killed at Mount Eden gaol this afternoon. He was hauling iqsome timber in connection with the roof of the new wing which is being built, and a heavy piece of timber fell out of the sling, striking McGurk on the head. The man died twenty minutes after the accident.
