N.Z. LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT. THIRD DAY’S PLAY. Nelson, Aug. 2. The third day’s play of the New Zealand ladies’ championship tournament took place to-day. The chief event was the third round of the. championship, in which easy wins were registered, except in the case of Mrs. Slack v. Miss G. Gorrie, which proved the most interesting contest so far in the tournament. Mrs. Slack was 3 down at the fifth hole, and at the 14th hole, and fighting a splendid uphill game won by one up. Mrs. Guy Williams won the senior of the Donnelly Cup with a net score of 89, the best score yet recorded in the tournament. Mesdames Bruce and Donald, with a gross score of 89, won the junior division. The teams match fell easily to Wellington A. The results were as follows: —
