NAPIER PARK RACING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. Th? annual meeting of members of the Napier Park Racing Club was held at the Masonic Hotel. this morning. Present : Messrs. J. (.'. McVay (chair). P. Martin. H. Shore. E. LimLrick. T. Parker, b. Moeller. S. E. Cooper. C. 1). Kennedy. G. Fleming. J. Bickm?ll and H. Didsbury. The annual report and balancesheet was read as follows Yoji c&m’nitree have much pleasure in being able to state that the club has had a most successful year, the profit for th? period under re view amounting to .L'IC9J, 13 11. The committee very mu'-L regret having to record the loss of one day’s racing, consequent on the report o! the Racing Commission. After carefill consideration the comimtte decided to eliminate one. day from th? Spring Meeting which took place in October last. Notwithstanding th.e reduction referred to it is pleasing to be able to state that the nominations and acceptances for the year just closed exceeded the prece.dmg year when we had six days’ racing and that the club still maintains its popularity both with horscowners and the public alike. It, is with feelings of deep regret

that I have to record the death of the late .Mr. Frank Bee. who was so long associated with the club as a member and who occupied a s<(at on the executive for the past ten years, j The whole of the chib’s property is in first-class order and the improvements to the stewards’ stand which were completed last year have , been greatly appreciated. Under the rules Messrs. J. Bicknell, H. J. Holder, R. D. Sweetapple. P. Martin and L. H. McHardy re- . tire from the committee and there ■ being no other nominations received 1 have much pleasure in declaring the above-named gentleman duly . elected. The cljairman commented on the 1 satisfactory position of the club. '• They had made nearly £llOO on the : year, which placed them about ' £l2OO better off t|ian the previous year. Any profit the club had made , had been used to reduce indebted- , ness.
