ATTACK POLICE PATROL. Thursday Islam!. Sept. 2. While a police patrol party under Mr. Burrows, assistant magistrate, was returning- down the Fly river with prisoners charged with murder, cannibalism, and miner offences, the natives unexpectedly attacked them with arrows. Four prisoners escaped —.nd several native police were slightly wounded. Mr. Burrows was not hurt. The party repulsed the attack. and no serious trouble is expected.
