[own correspondent.! Tire school committee me: on Tuesday evening last. Present: Messrs. J. A. McNeill (chairman), T. B. Haycock (secretary), George Beachen, n. W. Kenderdine, R. S. MeAulay, ami Martin Priest. It was reported that since last meeting Messrs McNenl, Beachen, Priest, MeAulay. Kenderdine and Stephenson spent a day making some necessary improvements in connection with the school. The members of the committee had also presented the school with a handsome eight day clock. Inspector Hill’s annual report was also read and considered, and the teacher (Miss Burns) was congratulated upon its highly satisfactory nature. The report stated: “This is a really gone ■school under good discipline and control. The children are well behaved and there is a very nice tone apparent throughout the entire working of the school. Commendable progress in the year's work has already been made, 'and the children deserve a special word of commenda‘ion on their neatly kept gardens, which have been made with the aid of soil carted for a distance. The children subscribed among themaelvcs to purchase necessary wireletting to fence their gardens. A imall grant for stronger netting’ ana t few pood posts would- act as, an .'-jneouragpment to the children. The grounds are improved very much 1 y jh'e tarred roads, but they arc mcomnlcte, a couple of pounds to complete. this work, and fix saddle arms in the shelter shed would be mosthelpful to this progressive school. The committee are evidently alive to their duties and Miss Burns deserves credit for the nice spirit of work nanifested among the classes.”
