A. AND P. SPRING SHOW.

IMPROVED RAILWAY FACILITIES. Mr. A. Duncan, district traffic manager of the Wellington—Napier district of the New Zealand Rail- \ , was unable, owing to a slight accident, to meet the sub-committee of the Hawke’s Bay A. and P. Society last evening, with reference to bi-tcer travelling facilities for stock proceeding to the spring show. The Department was, however, represented by Mr. Mouat, to whom it was represented that stock did not arrive till 9.15 p.m., , necessitating those in charge working till midnight in older to effect removal to the show grounds and the men did not reach their hotels, in consequence, until the early hours of the morning, although obliged to be early on flic scene th? some day. A more serious feature of the inadequate railway arrangements was the fact that, exhibitors from/ the districts mentioned, intimated that they would he unable to forward stock unless better facilities wove obtained. Mr. Mount stated that arrangement:;; wc’.i’d be made in order to permit of exhibit;s from the Wairarapa ord th? West Coast district as far Wanganui, reaching Hastings at 5.30 p.m. in order to permit of :.-,tO' , k being removed in daylight. Tim society has been endeavouring to obtain this concession for a number of years and considei'ably larger support is now anticipated for the show from the districts affected.
