In the Assembly the Hon. J. Carmichael .moving the second reading of the Gas Bill, which provides for reducing prices and fixing the rate of interest, claimed that it was a reasonable proposition. The interest would pay a fair dividend of five per centum and do a fair thing by the consumer. Counsel for the companies would address the House to-day in support of their interests.
