THE COAL VEND.
HEARING OF APPEAL. Sydney. Aug. 26. The hearing of the appeal of the shipping companies in the Coal Vend case has commenced in the High Court. The chief ground of the appeal relates to the admissabilitj - i f certain evidence, particularly evidence relating to the Vend's minutes prior to the date of the alleged combination. It is contended that the minutes of the Vend are not evidence against the appellants.
