WAI HI STRIKE. ) INTIMIDATING FREE LABOUR. i Waihi, Aug. 20. i In regard to the possibility cf free ; labourers coming to Waihi, Air. i Parry, president of the Miners’ Union, saiil he had written to the Federation asking the officials to inten iew the head cf the Railway Workers' Union requesting the latter not to carry free labourers. If free labourers came to Waihi it would be necessary to have an organised campaign to meet them. WAIHI DEADLOCK. WOMEN HOLD A MEETING. Waihi. Aug. 21. A women's meeting last night passed resolutions expressing confidence in the Executive of the Federation of Labour, and appealing to the Railway Society to refuse to run trains with free labour for the Waihi mines, anti also calling on the Seamen’s Union in similar terms.
