WAIPAWA.
At a meeting held in the Theatre on Saturday. presided over bv Mr. A. E. .lull. it was decided to form a branch of the Plunket Nurse Society. The following officers were appointed:—President. Mr*. Sydney Johnstone: secretary and treasurer, Mrs. W. Williams ; vice-presidents, Mesdames Hardy. Williams. Warren. Cyril Williams. J. Bibby. and Gilmour ; committee. Me'-dames J. Tod. Ncrris. Bibby. Adams Jull. Harris, and Miss Carston. The meeting wia very enthusiastic. The support financially promised is very conaidcdable and there is every likelihood of a nurse being obtained for this district. Mr. Victor Smith, who has been in the employ of Mr. E. Bibby for a ccnsiderable time, was presented on Saturday with a silver shaving set by his fellow employees as a mark of esteem. Mr. Smith is entering into partnership with his brother at Drmendville in storekeeping.
