ALLEGED THEFT.
Wairoa, July 23. Edwin James Harmer. whose wife keeps a boardinghouse, xvas charged yesterday afternoon w;th breaking and entering a storeroom at the Wairoa Hotel last Thursday and stealing IS bottles of various liquors. A pair of boots .thrown into the rix-cr as the police were approaching, and fished out by them, and plaster casts of the footmarks, formed the chief evidence. Accused pltad.*d not guilty and reserved his defence. Bai! totalling £3OO was allowed.
