DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS. Wellington, Julj’ 16. The annual tournament of the New Zealand Boxing Association was continued to-night. Among tuose present were the Governor, the Hon. W. F. Massey, the Hon. A. L. Herd man and the Hon. W. Fraser. Re-Feather-weig’it-—Barr (M anganui) beat Digby (Christchurch). Mills (Canterbury) best Adair (Gisborne). Heavy - weight. - _ Matthewson (Ot; io 'o) beat Lowe (Gisborne), Fitzsimmons (Timaru). beat McQuarrie (Southland). Bantams. — Kutner (Wellington) beat Payne (Auckland). (Christchurch) beat O Farrell (Otago). Gunn (Timaru) beat McMor-x-txn (Wellington). Middle-weight. —Monagnan (Ohakxxne) beat Cade (Christchurch , Boreham (Otago) beat Finnie (M eliinstoxi). Light-weight. —Stewart (Wellington’) beat Bond (W anganui). I Welter-weight.- —XX atchorn (Mana--watu) beat Mitchell (Auckland). NEW ZEALAND CONFERENCE. At the New Zealand Boxing Conference yesterday, the following iesolutions were passed. _ That entries for the championships he limited to one entry for each class from each affiliated body. _ That the rule be altered to provide for the appointment of an official ani noimcer for championship meetings. J That the duties of announcer ! should be to introduce contestants land announce their class and weight. ■He is to obtain from the judges then I decisions, and if they are in agreehnent he is to immediately announce 'the decision. If they disagree he is
to refer the matter to the referee, whose dei-iiion lie is to announce. That, in the opinion of this asso-' ciation. it should be understood that in the case of any association importing a profession;.! from Australia, and whilst in the Dominion such professional is engaged by associations other than the one which impmted him. his travelling expenses to and from Australia should be shared prorata by the associations under whose auspices lie appears. That in the event of a New Zealand championship meeting extending over more than one evening, competitors must weigh in on each evening on certified scales. It was resolved to recommend the council to hold the next New Zealand championship meeting in 1913, and that the next Australasian championship meeting be in Dunedin. That no relative of any competitor be permitted to judge or referee at a meeting in the bout in which such competitor is’engaged. That the next New Zealand championship meeting be hsld at Timaru.
