SUSPENSION BRIDGE COLLAPSES.
MEN AND HOUSES PRECIPITATED 200 FEET. Taihape, July 17. Yesterday afternoon, while a team of six horses was hauling timbe-r logs over Gibbs’ suspension bridge across the Otaihape at L’tiku, one side of the cables gave out, tipping all into the river,, a drop of about 200 feet. Up to the present no trace has been found or either men or horses. The men were named Ernest Pink and Richard Hon wood, both single men.
