A public meeting was he’d in the Foresters’ Hall last evening in con ’ect’on with the proposed new recreation ground. A strong committee was formed to take over the g.cimd from the present trustees, and to make an energetic canvass of the district for funds for the laying a .it of tennis courts, etc., in the autumn. Subscriptions to the fund may be left at the business premises ->f Messrs. Hampton, Harris, or Rodpath.
