HOCKEY.

NAPIER-HASTINGS v. DANNEVIRKE. A combined Napier-Hastings team of hockey players journeyed to Dannevirke on Saturday to try conclusions with an eleven chosen from the local clubs. The play was of an even nature, but as the result of recent rains, the ground was a perfect quagmire and scientific hockey was out of the question. Dannevirke won by three goals to two. R. Smith and Atkinson scor ed for the combined team.
