COAL VEND APPEAL.

COLLIERY PROPRIETORS WITHDRAW. Melbourne, July 12. In the course of the censure debate Mr. Hughes announced that the shipping companies had withdrawn their appeal for testing the Anti-trust Act arising out of the Coal Vend case, and paid all fines and costs totalling over £16,000. Sydney, Jui.v 12. According to information available here it is the colliery proprietors, not the shipping companies as previously stated, that had settled up in connection with the Coal Vend case. The shipping companies proceed with their appeal next term before the High Court.
