INDUSTRIES WEEK.
Although the meeting held last night in Napier to promote an ' industries week” was not largely attended sufficient interest was shown to justify the belief that success wi’l meet the efforts of the promoters. The proposal to hold an industrial week in Napier is not new. It has been on the tapis for many a long month. Fully a year ago a representative of the “Tribune” interviewed a number of business men and they were almost unanimously in favour of the proposal and promised to do their best to assure success. The suggestion that the “industries week” should be held during the progress of the musical competitions is a good one, as both undertakings will bring numerous visitors to the town and thus each work towards the success of the other. It also appears likely' that additonal attractions will be arranged in the way of outdoor sports and amusements. A good w.orking committee has been formed and it is to be hoped that the townsmen will not be tardy in rendering the necessary assistance to the organisation.
