TARADALE TOWN BOARD.

The Taradale Town Board met last evening. Present: Messrs. W. H. C. Howard (chairman), P. Dolbel, J. Rundle, T. Alexander and L. S. McDonald. CORRESPONDENCE. The Hawke’s Bay Employers’ Association stated that a meeting would be held on the 13th instant foi the purpose of formulating ccuntci proposals to those submitted by the General Leibourers’ Union. —Received.

The Taradale - Grecnmcadowi Tramway League asked the board to appoint delegates to a conference tc be held at a future date. —Messrs. McDonald and Dolbel appointed.

The Valuer-General forwarded a form of declaration to be signed in order that the board could receive the usual subsidy.—To be signci. The Queensland Insurance Com pany forwarded a copy of rules to be complied with in connection with the introduction of electric light into the Town Hall for pictures.—Received. T. AV. Manley asked the board to give him a testimonial as inspector oi nuisances for the period that he had served in that capacity.—Received. Cotterill and Humphries notified that lots 11 and 12, part section 25, Greenmeadows, had been sold to Mr. C. J. King, Napier.-—Noted.

The Treasury Department asked the board for £l7/16/8, being interest on £1842/6/-. —To be paid in due course.

The inspector of nuisances wrote stating that there was nothing in his agreement making it necessary for him to make a house-to-house report. He also reported on several dirty places.—Received.

GENERAL. It was decided to write to Mr. C. Fox asking him to lop a tree which overhangs the Town Hall. r Mr . McDonald gave notice to move, “That a rate of in the £1 be struck.” He said that if the Town Hall was a financial success a rate of l]d. would do. Accounts amounting to £lOO 0,2 were passed for payment.
