DEMENTED BY INFLUENZA. Melbourne, July 8 A man named Moore, while Buffering from dementia, the result of influenza, attacked his aged mother with an axe. His sister prevented him from killing the old woman, but the latter is in a precarious state. Moore then committed suicide with a razor. ! GIRL SHOT DEAD. I Sydney. July 8. I A tragedy took place at Mudgee, ' where a jockey named Claude Phillips shot a girl named Raynor, a former sweetheart, three time* : n the head. The girl is dead and Phillips is in a precarious conditon. (Received 9. 115 a.m.) Sydney, July 9. After shooting Rayner, Phillips went home and shot himself in the head.
