COALMINE RIOT.

CAUSED BY A DISMISSAL. (Received 3. 9.40 a.m.) London, July 2. A strike of six thousand colliers at Cwmtillery over die dismissal of * miner for posting trades union notices, led to serious rioting on the colliery premises and the manager’s house was wrecked. The local police being unable to cope with the situation, reinforcements were sent whom the rioters received with volleys of stones. After many baton charges the streets were cleared. Several women and children were injured.
