FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE.

SPREADING RAPIDLY. London, July 2. The area suspected to be affected by the outbreak of foot and mouth disease is very large. Already 155 cattle have been slaughtered. The live stock trade between Dublin and Liverpool, amounting to £400,000 weekly, is threatened. In most of the North of England the disease is advancing rapidly. (Received 3, 9.40 a.m) Government has authorised the landing of Irish cattle on the same conditions as foreign, at Glasgow, Bristol and Birkenhead. Mr. Runciman, in the House of Commons said Cumberland. South Lancashire. West Riding of Yorkshire, and South Northumberland were the main centres of foot and mouth disease.
