MAN SLASHED WITH A RAZOR

Auckland, July 1

Previous to the Maheno’s departure from Sydney for Auckland, a coal trimmer on the vessel had a quarrel with the asssitant butcher. He went to h : s quarters and returning with a razor encountered W. Norman. Evidently mistaking him for the butcher, the trimmer slashed his face from below the car to beneath the jaw causing terrible injuries. The assailant was arrested. Norman was conveyed to the hospital.
