HAWKE’S BAY EDUCATION BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Education Board was held this morning in the offices of the beard. Napier. Present: Messrs C. M. Whittington (chair). G. F. Roach, R. B. Ross. M. McLeod. W. G. Hunter, W. Morgan. G. Barton. J. H. Sheath and Rev. A. Grant. CH AIRM AN ’ S STATEM EN T.
The chairman stated that the following appointments had been made : —Takapau. assistant, Miss L. Russell ; Hatuma. Miss H. Russell ; Waipatiki, sole teacher. Miss L. Ainsworth; Wimbletcn. sole teacher (temporary), Mrs. Primrose; Wae-renga-arika, headmaster, Mr. L. Pole; Waipiro. headmaster. Mr. H. Ellis: Kiritaki. assistant. Miss M. Wilson ; Onga Onga. assistant temporarily, Miss E. O’Brien ; Napier South. temporary assistant, Miss E. Taffs; Pukebu. headmaster, Mr. R. Flo rance; Makuii. assistant. Miss E. S. Brims ; Kiritaki. headmaster, Mr. H. E. Stanton ; Keruru. sole teacher temporarily, Miss E. Janett. The folio wing members of the staff have sent in their resignations: —Waipawa, H. L. Wilson, assistant y Matamau. headmaste r. Mr. J. j Brown ; Hatuma. head teacher, Miss L. Cole; Gisborne, assistant. Miss} H. Hogg ; Napier, assistant, Air. R. | H. Florance.
Commissioners have been appointed as follows: —Hatuma South. Mr. A. Lavery ; Herbertville, Mr. J. M. Fisher; Matamau. Mr. G. W. France; Wimbleton. Mr. Ji. AV. S. Longley ; Anaroa. Mr. O. C*—? on ; Mangateretere, Mr. R. Tncker: Kanakar.aia. Mr. C. E. Hardup; Mohaka, Messrs. J. E. Hawkins and Walker; Patutahi, Messrs Smith, Kirk, Hughes, Duff, and Juddy. The following tenders have been accepted: Woodville, drainage connection. Messrs. Morgan and Co., Kaitar-.tahi. residence, James Ashby £470.
The Wairoa School Committee having resigned a fresh election is called for July Isth. The notice regarding the second election at Waipiro Bay having miscarried no election took place. The cecccd election will take place on July 24th.
The election to fill vacancies on the board by the retirement of Messrs. McLeod, Whittington' and Hunter takes place cn July 22nd. The retiring members are eligible for re-election. (Left sitting).
