NATIVE DISCONTENT.
Calcutta, June 27. A commission has been appointed to report on harbour warehouse and customs facilities and the future needs of Calcutta. Surendranath Banerjee states that Lord Crewe’s statement, to the effect that it is not proposeil to grant self-goernment to India, has caused profound disappointment. Satyendra Sinka declares that the statement will deepen existing discontent. GERMAN PRINCE’S BOOK OF TRAVELS. (Received 28, 11.15 a.m.) June 27. The Crown Prince has published a book descriptive of his Indian tour. It has a fine sporting flavour and is highly complimentary of English hospitality and administration.
