BATTLE AT ZANZUR OASIS.

Rome, June 9,
A force of 14 battalions with artillery and cavalry quitted Tripoli and seized the Zanzur oasis. After driving the Turks out of the hills to the southward at the point of the bayonet, a sharp fight took place at the western edge of the oasis.
The Turks were expelled and pursued.
A five hous’ engagement is reported at Homs, where 500 Turks attacked the Mergheb redoubts, but vere subjected to heavy rifle and artillery fire, and routed, sustaining cons;deiable losses.
TURKISH ACTIVITY.
TROOPS MUSTER ON AEGEAN COAST.
Constantinople, June 9.
Turkey is concentrating 40,090 men at Smyrna in expectation of joint military and naval action on a large scale on the Asiatic coasts of the Aegean.
GERMAN PRESSURE.
London, June 9.
“The Times’ ” St. Petersburg correspondent reports a well-defined rumour that Italy- will shortly cede one of the Aegean Islands to Germany.
The “Novoe Vremya” forsees the tardy awakening of Turkey to the real character of her alleged friends, and intimates that Russia is play-ing a dangerous game in espousing the cause of the Triplice. '
