The weekly competitions upder the Hawke’s Bay Hockey Club’s auspices were continued on Saturday. The various matches resulted as under SENIOR A GRADE. Hastings (2) v. St. Matthewls (0). This game was played at Cornwall Park. Hallett and Tong each scored for Hastings, while St. Matthews failed to find the net.- ' Mr. A. L. Fail was umpire. Mercantile (2) v. Bible Class (I). Mercantile defeated l#ble Clgft on Nelson Uark by 2 goals to .1after a very pool- game. Anderson ami McCutcheon scored for Hie victors and Phillips for the losers. Mr. R. V. C. Harris was uiqpirc. Napier (3) v. Civil- Service <!)• ■ Napier defeated Civil Service by 3 gohls to 1. Mackie, Grange and Langdale scored for Napier, and Dingwall for Civil Service. Mr. H. Bell was umpire.- • • SENIOR B GRADE. St. Matthew’s (o) v. M.Y.M.I, (0).
St,. Matthew’s defeated M.Y.M.I. by five goals to nil; Mr. T. Atkinson controlled the game. Hastings (3) v. Mercantile No. 1 (2X. Hastings beat Mercantile No. 1 by thWo goals to two. Mt. H. Fredrickson was umpire. Koh-i-noor (11) v. Mercantile No. 2 (1). Koh-i-noor romped’ over "Mercan* ' r tile No. 2 by >ll goals to 1. The losers played with only seven' men. Wall (2), McCorkindale (2), Ross (2), Hogan (2), Blair (2), and Peters scored- for Koh-i-noor, and Merretb scored Merc.’s only goal. MEN’S JUNIOR. St. Matthew’s (0) v. United (0).
This match was set down for Farndon Park, but owing to some misunderstanding about the ground not played until after the ladies’ match, when two spells of twenty minutes each were played. The game was even, the match ending in a draw. Air. R. Smith was umpire. Union (3) V. Qivil Service (I). Union defeated Civil Service by 3 goals to 1. Goals were scored By F. Peat (2) and H. Firth for the winners, and G. Garry for Civil Service.
LADIES' MATCHES. Napier (£) v. Albion (0). Miss. Gamin scored both goals for Napier, one in each half. St. Matthew’s (3) v. Technical (0).
St. Matthew’s defeated Technical by three goals to nil. Mr. R, Smith controlled the game.
Clive (13) v. Technical (0). Clive at Fnrndon on Saturday Farndon by 13 goals to nil. This is a Hawke’s Bay ladies’ record score and it bebeved to he a Dominion record for a ladies match. The scores for Clive were obtained by Al/sses K. Crowley, 7 goals, D. Tucker and K. Brady, 2 goals each, end B. Harrison and C. Harrison. 1 goal each. Air. R. Hicks was umpire.
