LENIENTLY' DEALY WITH
(Received 21, 9.30 a.m.) St. Petersburg, May 20.
At Warsaw last September Count Ronikier, who was convicted of the murder of his youthful brother-in-law xvho stool between him and fortune, xvas sentenced to fifteen years’ imprisonment. The Appeal Court has noxv reduced the sentence to 15 months, on the ground that the crime was one of manslaughter, and Count Ronikier has been allowed bail pending an appeal to the Senate.
Newspapers contrast the leniency in this case xvith the sentence on Miss Malecka. who remains in custody pending appeal.
