A CHALLENGE.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In reading the report of Thursday night’s meeting of the Hastings Borough Council, I noticed where Cr. Holderness said that motor cars were always on the wrong side and that they should be made to go where their allotted place was. Their allotted place, I take it, is on the stand where all vehicles for hire should be, and ours always are. I challenge Cr. Holderness to prove his words “that the motor cars were never on their right stands.” If Cr. Holderness can prove one instance where our licensed cars were not on the right stand for hired vehicles at the railway station, I will forfeit £5 to the Napier Hospital, on condition he pays £5 to the hospital funds if he fails to substantiate his statement. - —I am, etc., GRAHAM AND GEBBIE, Per W. Graham.
