FRIMLEY CRICKET SOCIAL.
At the Frimley cricket social on Friday night to wind up the cricket season, the president, Air. E. BasilJones, presided, and in responding to the toast of his health made an excellent speech, and prophesied that next year Frimley and not the Fire Service would be the cup winners. He also spoke of the interest the firm would take as they have hitherto in all that pertained to the welfare of those in their employ, a speech that was listened to with a good deal of interest all round. An excellent musical programme was provided, and was contributed to by Messrs J. Craig (Tomoana), Sinclair, Noble, E. Basil-Jones, H. O. Cooper, Macklow, Spencer, Hopkins, Goldfinch, Sclgren, AA r atson and Glue. The toasts honoured were, the President, Donors of Trophies, Visitors, and 'the Hastings Cricket Association. Trophies were given as follows: —Mr. R. Watson, for best improved player, to Mr. L. Goldfinch : by Air. A. Stubbs for best fielder, also presented to Air. L. Goldfinch; by Mr. A. Grey for best batting average, to Mr. AV. Spencer; by Mr. Foxcroft for best bowling average, to Mr. E. Bloomfield. The trophy for most points in euchre wqn by Air. R. AVatson was presented by Air. A. E. Lowe. The secretary, Mr AV. White gave a report of the season’s play and spoke in hopeful terms of the club’s prospects. The evening was one of the most enjoyable entertainments ever held at Frimley. Air. F. Sheehan presided at the piano and gave excellent music.
