HIGH SCHOOL BOARD OF GOVERNORS.

NAPIER. MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of th: Napier High School Board of Governors was held in the Education Board's office, Napier, yesterday. Present: —Dr. Moore (chair), Mr. S. McLernon, Dr. JJidey, R. D. D.. McLean, C. H. Edwards, W. ..Dinnwiddie and J. H. Sheath. Leave of absence was granted to Mr. J. V. Brown. Accounts amounting to £312 19 8 were passed for payment. The Visiting Committee presented their report. The work of repairing the verandah and fence is to be out. It was decided to call tenders for the addition of 16 cubicles above the junior school. The work to be proceeded with in the September holidays. It was decided to-advertise in the Wairoa and Gisborne papers. Mr. Pol-' a repotted that at present 126 pttpiis. were attending the school. science classes were visit;d by the'lnspector. By the courtesy of the captain of H.M.S. u-sjority of the boys visited the ship during her visit to Napier. Messrs. Sheath and McLean wereappointed as a visiting committee. The visiting committee were instructed to deal with gas fires and minor alterations at the schools.
