The Presbyterian Assembly adopted a resolution in favour of an effort to secure a stipend of £3OO and a manse for all ministers. Complaints were made that many of the ministers are underpaid and the cost of living for the past five years has advanced 30 per cent, and the salaries had not improved. The report showed there was a great dearth of candidates for the ministry. „
