HAWKE’S BAY RABBIT BOARD.
The Hawke’s Bay' Rabbit Board met on Tuesday. Present: Messrs. T. E. Crosse (chairman), T. Clark, A. C. Bennett and Chief Inspector Amyes. The Department of Agriculture notified, that the report on the country between Auckland and Hawke’s Bay would be referred to the Department of Fields and Experimental Farms. —Received.
The Department of Agriculture wrote regarding the inspection of the poisoning work at Kaimanawas, and stated that an officer of the department would be detailed to inspect Golden Hills country as soon as possible.—The chairman said it was too late to make a proper investigation, and it was a hardship to the board that it should do the work and no investigation be made within proper time, so as to show that the expendiure was justified. It was most unsatisfactory that the board should do the work and not be in a position tc know whether the department regarded it as satisfactory or not.—Reply' to be sent on the lines indicated bj- the chairman. G. N. Pharazj’n offered to rent a whare in the Mangatoro Valley.—Occupation allowed until the board require the whare. G. D. Boyd wrote objecting to a charge for poisoning.—Mr. Bennett said that where objections were made the man concerned should be required to do his own rabbiting to the satisfaction of the board. !Xo reduce ion to be made. The secretarj' stated that taere was a credit balance at the bank of CI7S6. Accounts amounting to £382/0/10 were passed for payment. Inspectors reports were received and dealt with.
